Designer, photographer, painter, dandy, cesarized film set designer (notably for the film "Diva" by Jean Jacques Beineix), Hilton McConnico was, during his long international career, a one of his kind cross-disciplinary creative genius, collaborating with the most prestigious luxury Maisons such as Daum or Hermès among many others.
Though Hilton McConnico, as designer, is still highly praised among professional creative communities and cultural circles, his work and name remain rather confidential to the public… Hence the idea to revisit the incredible richness of his work through the contemporary lense of three designers, each one invited to engage a creative dialogue around Hilton McConnico’s work.
Around a unique selection of 80 iconic pieces from McConnico, Vincent Darré, Pierre Gonalons and Atelier Baptiste & Jaina were invited to take possession of our space and express their own interpretation of his legacy, revealing the undeniable intergenerational impact that Hilton McConnico had and continues to have in today’s decorative arts community.
